Lucky

Billowing clouds of thick black smoke blanketed the flaming night sky. The sirens of police cars & fire trucks were blaring from a distance. Cautiously, I traipsed along the path which was swamped with claustrophobic mass of people. My eyes were darting back & forth rapidly, searching for the face of my friend who was at the climbing center earlier. I watched in horror as the fire flared up uncontrollably, engulfing the whole building mercilessly. Calmness was restored when I managed to locate my friend, BBWolf, who had gathered with the other climbers at a safe corner of the street. Thankfully, everyone escaped unharmed :)

*Delta Rover on fire 27th March 2007

My initial plan was to go the climbing center for bouldering, but didn't make it in the end because i went for a hair cut instead.

Am i lucky or what?

Hair Cut

Mom complained that my hair looked like an unkempt fluffy chicken -_-*

Knocked off work early yesterday, hence I decided to get professional help on my unruly mane..

Stylist: How do you want your hair cut?

JL: Short, neat & stylish.

Stylist: OK.

*snip snip snip*

JL: eh can shorter ah?

Stylist: can...

*snip snip snip*

JL: ermmm.. shorter?

Stylist: Are you sure? Any shorter it will not have the layered effect.

JL: never mind… I just want it to be neat.

Stylist: OK. By the way, you are balding.

JL: O_O’

Stylist: It’s not serious but I suggest that you apply some hair growth tonic on the balding area.

JL: Orh…(My hair has started departing) :(

*snip snip*

Stylist: OK.. done. Have a look.. do you like it?

JL: (aiyah why look so weird 1, but at least it’s neater now).. it’s OK lah, thanks.

(reached home)

Mom: Eeyer… why your hair looks like yam.

JL: O_o* Y..y..ya..yam??!

From a fluffy chicken to a yam... What a huge transformation hoh :P

Long Time No See

-Taken from The Sun newspaper-

Double Trouble

KL: Labradors Lucky & Flo began a one-month trial operation yesterday to sniff out pirated DVDs and CDs in Malaysia, the Motion Picture Association (MPA) said in a statement. The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry invited MPA to bring the Northern-Ireland trained canines after ministry officials saw them in action in Hongkong and Dubai.

During their mission, dubbed Operation Double Trouble, they will work alongside enforcement officers in various parts of the country to help the ministry assess the feasibility of setting up a dog enforcement unit.

They were in action at the Malaysia Airlines cargo loading area at KLIA. They sniffed cardboard boxes and then sat down, wagging their tails when they found something suspicious. Lucky and Flo are trained to detect polycarbonate and other chemicals used in optical discs but cannot tell between legitimate and pirated discs. – AFP

LOL!!!!!!

This is unbelievable... Using trained canines to sniff out PIRATED DISCS?! What are the customs doing? Bum around and be merry? Come on lah…

Furthermore, they’re planning to use 2 doggies only for the operations in various parts of the country. That’s exploitation and mistreatment! Poor poor doggies...

I smell trouble already…

P.S. Perhaps Liucas & Goldie can send in their applications ^_^

Part 1 of Moz's Lapuk tag

5 lamest movies i've ever seen:

  • Legend of The Red Curse

One word: SUCK! (BIG TIME). I’m amazed that Bjarne Wong (the director) could come up with another equally atrocious movie called Possessed (famous for the Amber Chia break dance scene). This guy just never learned from his mistakes *sigh*

  • Date movie

I like Alyson Hannigan in the cult-status American Pie movies. She’s likable, blurry cute & witty. But in the Date Movie, she became a major dumb nincompoop that’s beyond hope. Her acting is horrible and the movie is appalling! I didn’t even twitch a muscle throughout the whole show. If she ever tries that again, she will be history.

This photo is taken at Hutan Lipur Sungai Tua which is located on the link road between Selayang and Ulu Yam. I used to go there quite often in my free time, especially during weekends. I like to rest on one of the many huge boulders that sturdily seated along the river and enjoy the calming serenity of the place.

Recently i visited the place again with CJ. The place was packed with people (must be due to School Holiday), but we still managed to spend a peaceful Sunday relaxing, chatting & taking photos there (by the way CJ is a very good photographer... impress).

P.S. I'm going to KK next week for holiday! yippee...It's going to be my first attempt to conquer the majestic Mt Kinabalu. If anyone has any wishes for me to carry up there, do pass them to me OK ^_^ cheers

Smitten

WARNING! A very diabetic post ahead.
_____________________________________________________________
Besotted

Ahuh…

Obsessed
It hasn’t reach this stage yet

Fanatical
This is just too much

Head over heels in love
Still on my shoulders but it’s toppling over quickly

Infatuated
Can someone please hand me a balloon?

Love-struck
Yes! The impact is incredible

As usual, according to Miriam-Webster:

smite

Pronunciation:
\ˈsmīt\

Function:
verb

Inflected Form(s):
smote \ˈsmōt\; smit·ten \ˈsmi-tən\ or smote; smit·ing \ˈsmī-tiŋ\

Etymology:
Middle English, from Old English smītan to smear, defile; akin to Old High German bismīzan to defile
DEFILE!? scary...

Date:
12th century

transitive verb
1: to strike sharply or heavily especially with the hand or an implement held in the hand
The object can’t be held with hand but it’s very sharp indeed.

2 a: to kill or severely injure by smiting b: to attack or afflict suddenly and injuriously
Wah… no need to resolve to violence. Next!

3: to cause to strike
Hmm… Pay RISE!!!

4: to affect as if by striking <smitten with the fear of hell - V.L. Parrington>
It’s an amazing feeling... so this is out as well.

5: captivate, take <smitten with beauty>
Ahuh… that’s the word I’m looking for… I'm completely & utterly captivated.

If music is my feeling, you are my song :)

Stolen - Dashboard Confessional

We watch the season pull up its own stakes
And catch the last weekend of the last week
Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced,
Another sun soaked season fades away

You have stolen my heart

Invitation only, grant farewells
Crash the best one, of the best ones
Clear liquor and cloudy eyed, too early to say goodnight

You have stolen my heart

And from the ballroom floor we are in celebration
One good stretch before our hibernation
Our dreams assured and we all, will sleep well

You have stolen
You have stolen my heart

I watch you spin around in the highest heels
You are the best one, of the best ones
We all look like we feel

You have stolen my
You have stolen my heart

Here In Your Arms - Hellogoodbye

I like where we are,
When we drive, in your car
I like where we are.... Here

Cause our lips, can touch
And our cheeks, can brush
Our lips can touch here

Well you are the one the one that lies close to me
Whisper's hello I miss you quite terribly
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there's no place else I could be but here in your arms

I like where you sleep,
When you sleep, next to me.
I like where you sleep... here

Cause our lips, can touch
And our cheeks, can brush
Our lips can touch here

Well you are the one the one that lies close to me
Whisper's hello I miss you quite terribly
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there's no place else I could be but here in your arms

So Little Time, So Much To Do

The amount of work was overwhelming for the past 2 weeks and my supervisor told me that was just the calm before the storm ... O_O'

*Moz: I'm so sorry man. I'll do the tag ASAP ok. Sorry selori

This beautiful chaconne (bukan itu ice-cream cone OK =P) was
composed made famous by Tomaso Antonio Vitali (Alex: thanks for noting this, corrected :P). I first came across this piece when I watched Sarah Chang’s concert at my friend’s place. The poignant & mournful chords are exceedingly heart-trenching and the virtuous violinist Nathan Milstein had effectively conveyed this feeling in his spectacular interpretation. Enjoy! :)

*William Orbit remix (***)

*DJ Tiesto remix (*)

The tantalizing rhythm of strings has wholly enraptured my senses.

My heart is captivated by the flowing melodic line.

The assimilation of sublimed infectious trance beat.

It’s like weaving together a nightmare and a sweet dream.

The incongruent emotions, surreal.

Deep breaths.

Escalating heart rate,

58, 59, 60, 62, 64...

A short-burst of oxygen filled my lungs.

The raucous armies of red warrior are marching to the vivacious beat.

An abrupt surge of energy fuels the mounting systolic & diastolic pressures.

The intermittent release of endorphin is paving the path to Euphoria.

Like a string puppet, my body moves instinctively to the master’s directions.

My mind has surrendered to the encompassing power of music.

Be still my raging heart,

Be still.

For the time is near :)

*I still think the original version is the best(*****)

Run: Me, Myself & My Music

The unvarying thumping of my feet reverberated through my fatigued body like a metronome providing a constant beat to the rhythm of my run. With my eyes firmly set on the forlorn lamppost at the end of the circuit, I trudged on with all my might toward the final distance.

Far away
The ship is taking me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

After the run, I rested on the cool soft ground of the now deserted park and marveled in wonder at the inexplicable glimmer of starlight on display in the serene night sky. Almost coincidentally with the spectacular vista, the song ‘Starlight’ started playing on my MP3 player.

Starlight
I will be chasing a starlight
Until the end of my life
I don’t know if it's worth it anymore

As I lay here in the silence, a profound sense of peace & tranquility slowly permeated my frazzled body. My lips Intuitively formed a subtle upward curve while I gazed at the dazzling stars & the luminous crescent moon.

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms

The calming night breeze had lifted my worries & some of my troubles seemed to have gone with the wind.

My life
You electrify my life
Let's conspire to ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive

Though I may never sprint as fast as Michael Johnson or run like Paul Target, but one thing I have in common with these great men is the passion for running. Running is my sweet escape, my momentary alleviation to life’s reservations. It gives me mental clarity whenever my mind is shrouded by mist of ambiguities. I do not run away from problems but I run to keep a step ahead of them

But I'll never let you go
If you promised not to fade away
Never fade away

Once I perceived how insignificant my predicaments were to the vast scale of life, my heart is greatly filled with contentment. As Lao Tzu says, “No disaster is worse than being discontented. No omen (for your future) worse than being greedy. Yet, if you can find (true) contentment, it will last forever”.

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

Thursday: After doing my laundry, i went to prepapre some kangkung for potato in the kitchen. While i was washing the vegetables, i heard some funny rustling noise coming from the wash room area. At first i thought sei lar hopefully it's not a rat, cicak or worst, *gulp* snake. There were incidents in past when some blur blur reptiles got into the houses around here.

The noise grew louder gradually and then it stopped. I said to myself "Oh shit... the thing got potato". I took a broom and cautiously walked to the wash room area. As i opened the door, i was welcomed by the most shocking sight! The thing really got potato... you orang see for yourself:

  • I have acrophobia but I love thrill rides. The higher, the better ;P
  • I cried watching Titanic. 3 times at the cinema & twice at home (VCD). What to do, I'm a sappy fool :P
