I’m very impressed with their public transportation system. It is as good as Singapore’s if not better. Of all the countries I’ve visited in Asia region, I must say KL has one of the worst public transportation ever. No significant improvement throughout the years, yet our government is so proud of their insignificant achievement over it. The MRT stations in Hong Kong are well placed throughout the island with at least one or two tourist attractions nearby the station. It has a network of well lit underground tunnels connecting these stations to various landmarks, shopping malls, offices, and tourist attractions. It’s so easy and pleasant to take the MRT even during peak hours and sadly I can’t say the same for our LRT, Komuter and Monorail.
Aptly named as the city that never sleeps, the more popular streets like Fa Yuen Street, Sai Yeung Choi Street and Tung Choi Street are crowded with people from morning to night. Those who love to dine and drink are spoilt for choice at the Lan Kwai Fong & SOHO area. My hotel is located on Cameron lane which is quite busy itself. Once out of the hotel, you can see throng of people walking up and down the busy road. Not far from Cameron Road is the famous Chunking Mansion, which is made famous by the movie Chungking Express.
I. Love. Hong Kong Food.
Though it’s slightly more expensive than KL but the portion is so much bigger. I had the best dim sum and wanton noodle ever in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon and the best shopping experience at Central area. Hong Kong is truly a paradise for food lover and shopper. None will be left disappointed.
Material aside, I’d the opportunity to visit Hong Kong Historical Museum and was again impressed with the exhibits and the maintenance of the museum. I must pay our National Museum a visit to give a fair comparison between these two. Therefore, I’ll keep this for later.
