Paws

PAWS, located on Airport Subang Road, has been taking care of unwanted and strayed dogs, puppies, cats and kittens since 1987. This little establishment is run by a few full time staff and welcome volunteers to help them out everyday at the shelter.

Quack has started volunteering at the shelter two weeks ago and i was very fortunate to join her to spread some cheer to these animals yesterday morning. The place is not in the best of shape, but it is the next best thing to these homeless animals. The shelter is separated into 3 areas, an office, the dog pen, and the cat pen. I saw two monkeys in a cage next to the cat pen, kes sesat kot.

*play with me!*

Quack and I took doggie 196 (that's what written on the collar) out for a spin and then gave her a good rub & scrub. Since it was still early, we decided to walk another doggie. The 2nd dog looked like a cross breed between a skinny corgi and a tortoise-shell cat, but with only light brown patches. After the walked, we wanted to bathe her but she refused to go near the bathing area, so we just sent her back to her buddies.

*Experiment 196*

There's an area next to the office where they keep the little pups. I played with a doberman pinscher that has the cutest eyes ever. I was so tempted to bring him home :)

*Kawaii to the max!*

While i was there, i saw a couple walked more than 10 dogs in an hour. Damn semangat leh. Most of visitors are there to donate food and items needed by the shelter. After visiting the shelter, I've made a resolution to visit the place at least once a week to pamper the animals there :)

*This is what i call Puppy Eyes*

She's Alright

Thanks for all your well wishes. Mom is doing well and recuperating at home.

The ops was quick and smooth. She went into the OT around 10am and came back to her room around 1pm. I took a short nap in between as I was feeling a lil under the weather. The nurse showed me the stone and I was surprised by the size of it. The stone is as big as an adult-sized tooth. According to the Doc, our saliva duct is just as big as a pin hole.

Doc’s advice is to drink more water and gently massage the saliva gland after meal to prevent sedimentation on the saliva duct. Stay hydrated yo!

Under The Knife

I’ve been under the knife for 4 times until now. The part I really hate most is the post-surgery phase. Groggy from the anesthetic, pain from the ops, and if you’re unlucky, annoying room mate plus nurses from hell. Generally the hospital foods leave a little to be desired for and I believe they can do so much better in this area.

Today mama is going for a minor surgery to extract stones from her saliva duct. She is checking in to one of the popular hospitals in the Klang Valley; hopefully their service is better than my previous hospitals.

Hope everything goes well and wish her a speedy recovery.

Apa Tu?

Came across a very cute animal while reading National Geographic’s website this afternoon.

*Tree Kangaroo*

They are usually found in the rainforests of Papua New Guinea, Queensland and nearby islands. It’s amazing that these adorable creatures evolved from creatures similar to kangaroo. Would really like to see them in real life.

It's Not So SMART After All

Caught in a very bad traffic yesterday at the city centre. A heavy torrential pour had flooded a few areas in the city centre and disrupted the flow of traffic. Even the fire station near PWTC wasn’t spared. Isn’t ironic that a fire station is flooded? I saw a inflated boat ferrying people out from the fire station and I thought it was a drill but the news on the radio confirmed my suspicion.

Apart from rain, we have plenty of irresponsible & very rude road users in KL. The massive jam yesterday was mostly caused by these asshole drivers. The over-glorified tunnel failed to mitigate the flood or the traffic. The only usage of the tunnel for me is to get to Mid Valley under 15 mins. Does it really worth the billions of our tax payers’ money? I really sympathize those who were trapped in the city yesterday, no LRT, no bus, no way out.

Sigh… KL oh KL….

Everybody Is Doing It

How To Make Your Own Album Cover

1 - Open http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random.
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band (alternatively, if the first article you hit is short, hit Random Article two more times).

2 - Open http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3.
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Open http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days.
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use photoshop/paint or similar to put it all together.

I can't even pronounce my own band's name... how liddat?
