I Heart Chu

Hidden in the midst of the concrete jungle in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng is Euro Deli Restaurant, a German restaurant known for its scrumptious selection of pork dishes. The interior deco is unpretentious and simple. Cleanliness is on par with classy restaurant and the staffs are attentive. They used to have the view of KL Twin Towers but it’s now blocked by the newly built Hamshire Park & Avenue K.

*the ham & pig are eating sausage, the sausage happily looks on. this is SO SALAH!

CJ & I arrived slightly half past 6 yesterday to the restaurant and it was still empty. The ever friendly Filipino captain ushered us to our own secluded corner of this cozy little restaurant and proceeded to take our order.

I ordered their famous pork knuckle while CJ opted for the pork cordon bleu and mushroom soup. They served us some oven warmed bread with butter to kick of off our appetite; yummy. The mushroom soup was a let down, too diluted and could hardly taste the mushroom but we weren’t there for the soup so we didn’t bother much. Around 15-20 minutes later, our foods were served. The skin of my pork knuckle was roasted to perfection, it reminds of Chinese suckling pig, yet the meat was tender and juicy. CJ’s pork cordon bleu was oozing with cheesy goodness yet it was not too overpowering and complemented the meat very well. After the hearty meal, there’s hardly any place left in our tummy for dessert. We struggled with our hot chocolate and cappuccino and left the place with a healthy and happy stomach. Simply Porkylicious!

They call me Sing Song

Sing a song of Katy’s,
And dance to PCD’s.
3 guys & 2 girls, Sang in a box.
When the box was opened,
the crowd heard them sing.
Wasn't that out of pitch
And totally out of sync?

The box was turned upside down,
When it turned into a party.
We sang more than 3 hours,
Voices gone all funny.
That song by Salvage garden
Has a funny prose.
“chica cherry cola”
A drink? I assumed so.
Came Kylie’s Locomotion,
We danced around the bench.
The last song before goodbye,
‘till we meet again my friends.

Hooray Hooray Is A Holi Holiday

I’ll be travelling a lot this year thanks to Tony Hernandez Fernandez. Managed to get some cheap tickets during their 1 million free tickets period last year. I’ll be visiting Krabi, Phi Phi, Hong Kong & Macau this coming April and i’m really looking forward to visit Krabi & Phi Phi after viewing countless breathtaking photos online.

Call me crazy but I’ve started planning my trips since last year. I’ve worked out the transportation, accommodation, excursion and even where to eat. The 1st night will be spent on Ko Rai Leh, voted the most beautiful beach at Krabi. The soft white sand and clear turquoise water at Tham Phranang beach is really inviting. Beside that, I also would like to visit Ton Sai bay which is a popular rock climbing spot in Krabi. It’s not easy looking for an accommodation at Phi Phi Island as most of the places are over priced. I’ve narrowed down my choice to one resort at Long Beach (gorgeous view but steep steps to bungalow) and another cozy lil garden bungalow snuck up at Viewpoint on Loh Dalum side. The highlight for my trip to Phi Phi would be the excursion to the famous Maya Bay. Hope the weather will be kind to me then.

Should old acquaintances be forgot?

I’ve met up with an old acquaintance; let’s call him Feisty Leo, from primary school recently. He has left quite an impression on me because he tried to bite one of our teachers who wanted to check his homework in primary school. He moved to another school after an unpleasant encounter with a Malay male teacher in standard 5. We all hated this teacher because he’s confrontational and damn racist. The teacher allegedly punched Feisty Leo on the face because he refused to show him his homework. No action was taken against the teacher but my friend was transferred to another school to cover the whole fiasco. So unfair!

Do you still remember the Malay female teacher who made a racist remark at her Indian student? She got off scot free and was transferred to another school nearer to her home and it’s all for her own safety. OWN SAFETY! WTF!

I digress...

Anyway, back to Feisty Leo. We lost contact since then and one fine day he sent me a message online. He told me that he wanted to find all his school mates back to those in primary school. I do keep in touch with a few of them who make an effort to stay in touch, 2 from primary school, 10 from secondary school, and 5 from Uni. Not much I can say about the rest.

How many friends (not including Hi-Bye friend) do you have who attended the same school as you?

Lap Sap

Last month, I helped my dear friend, Earl, to move his stuffs from the old loft to his new abode at Bukit Jalil. I thought I’ve trouble throwing away things, but this fella has more stuffs than I do. A very handy advice for people who are shifting, please ask your friend to help you because it will help you save time and space.

Time as he/she will help you throw away things which are not useful but you can’t bring yourself to throw it away. Given reasons include I might use/read/wear it again. Believe me… you won’t.

Space as you’ll need to find space to store the above mentioned items, which you swear you will use/read/wear again, whereas in reality it’ll be left forgotten among the pile of things that you’ve assured yourself that you’ll definitely use/read/wear again. Do you see a pattern here?

I used to keep stuffs like notes, school bags, erasers, bus tickets, VCR tapes, name tags, shoes and the list goes on and on. I had my drawings, notes, text books from kindergarten until Form 5. Crazy right? I keep telling myself that these things will become useful one day but unfortunately that day never come. The stuffs that I’d thrown/donated are more than those I’d moved to my apartment.
